Beethoven is back. And Europe is listening.
In 2026, Ludwig van Beethoven returns to Europe – not as a monument of past greatness, but as a living idea. As a radical spirit. As an artistic provocateur. As a source of inspiration for a time that demands attitude, courage, and new perspectives.
This Europe-wide art project does not see Beethoven as a historical figure, but as a contemporary force. The starting point is the fictional repetition of his legendary concert tour of 1796: A journey across Europe, accompanied by an internationally composed group of outstanding artists from music, visual arts, theater, and literature. Together they open a resonance space between past, present, and future – interdisciplinary, experimental, and socially relevant.
What begins in 2026 as an artistic vision will find its real counterpart in 2027: in a Europe-wide concert and exhibition tour that connects cities, institutions, and people. A project that does not preserve history but renegotiates it, that does not manage cultural heritage but rethinks it, and that makes Europe tangible as a cultural space – multi-voiced, courageous, and open.
This project is deliberately conceived on a grand scale. It transcends disciplines, national borders, and expectations. That is why it needs companions who share the courage for the extraordinary. Partners who not only enable culture but actively want to shape it, who are ready to take responsibility for social dialogue, artistic freedom, and European identity.
