A European Cultural Project - Patronages

15 January 2026 | Frank Wallburger (Reiseleiter)

For our 'Beethoven ART Tour 1796 | 2026' and the subsequent concert and exhibition tour in 2027, it would be desirable for the mayors of the tour cities to assume patronage - accompanied by a greeting to Ludwig van Beethoven and his accompanying cross-disciplinary travel group. Today, a first draft of a letter was created:

Request for Patronage:
'Beethoven ART Tour 1796 | 2026' - A European Cultural Project

Dear Mayor [Insert Name],

In March 2027, the 200th anniversary of the death of Ludwig van Beethoven will occur. A date that will draw worldwide attention to one of the greatest humanists and visionaries in European history. To shape this anniversary not only as a retrospective but as a living dialogue, we have initiated an extraordinary project: the 'Beethoven ART Tour 1796 | 2026'.

At the core of the project, we let Ludwig van Beethoven physically and artistically repeat his historical concert tour of 1796 - from Vienna via Prague, Dresden, and Leipzig to Berlin as well as Bratislava and Budapest - in 2026. Accompanied by an ensemble of visual, performing, and writing artists, journalists, and filmmakers, we confront the spirit of Beethoven with the reality of today's Europe.

The project pursues three central goals:
o European Understanding: The route connects important metropolises of Central Europe and emphasizes our common cultural heritage. o Artistic Freedom: We creatively and artistically explore how Beethoven's ideals of brotherhood and freedom resonate in the modern society of the 21st century.
Innovative documentation: A multimedia project diary accompanies the journey and makes it tangible for a worldwide audience.

In 2027, we will report on our travel experiences in 2026 in the form of a real city tour with concerts, art exhibitions, panel discussions, lectures, etc., to a wide audience.

Since [Name of the city] plays a historical key role in Beethoven's biography and is still a center of European culture today, it would be an extraordinary honor for us to have you as a patron for the station in [Name of the city].

Your patronage would underscore the significance of this cross-border endeavor and send a strong signal for the promotion of the arts and European unity. We would be happy to provide you and your cultural department with further details in a personal conversation or a detailed project presentation.

With utmost respect
