One Year. One Path. One Legacy.

18 January 2026 | Frank Wallburger (Reiseleiter)

Although it's Sunday, Hendrik Meyer and I sit in front of computer screens and talk on the phone for several hours.

Hendrik has almost finished the layout of the homepage of our website. An AI-generated Beethoven image from 1796 to 2026 will greet our guests. After the intro, one will read:

The genius awakens.
In March 2027, the 200th anniversary of Ludwig van Beethoven's death is commemorated – and the world holds its breath. The 'Composer of the Millennium', creator of the immortal 'Ode to Joy' melody and epitome of creative rebellion, returns – not as a monument, but as a counterpart.

The time travel begins now.
In 2026, Beethoven leaves history and embarks on his legendary concert tour again – the same route as in 1796, but through a completely new world. By his side: a new generation of artists from music, art, theater, and literature. Together they explore Europe's heartlands – from old concert hall stages to digital soundscapes – and pose the big question: What does freedom mean today?

One Year. One Path. One Legacy.
This journey is not a repetition. It is a recreation. It is an artistic adventure that merges past and present into a single moving moment – where Beethoven meets us again. A masterful artistic expedition into the heart of our time.

We were still undecided about the menu navigation and possible functions (filter tools), how users could sort our diary entries according to their needs. However, I am already entering the first diary entries. Ultimately, we agreed on the main menu:

Late in the evening, I end the day with a glass of wine and Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor, 'The Tempest' – performed by the Argentine-Israeli pianist and conductor Daniel Barenboim.
