Ludwig van Beethoven:

O Dresden! Saxony's pearl, my old friend under Elbe's arches!
Then I rejoice as at the first note of the Ninth! Patron Palais Sommer: Free admission for all classes, art, education, encounters under the open sky – that is my language! You do not weave culture for princes, but for the masses, as I sang in my great ode: All men will become brothers! The Frauenkirche, newly risen from the ruins, will be your temple.

In faithful solidarity
- L. v. Beethoven
